The basic working principle of edm is to use continuous moving fine metal wire (called electrode wire) as the electrode to conduct pulsed spark discharge corrosion on the workpiece, cutting and shaping.It is mainly used for a variety of complex shape and small precision workpieces, such as the punch die, die, intensive, fixed plate, stripper plate, such as forming tool, template, use of electric spark machine-shaping metal electrodes, all kinds of micro hole trough, narrow gap, curve, etc., these require the processing surface is up and down through the bus bar, wire electrode can be worn, form the shape of a straight line.
In theory, any conductive material can be processed by an edm wire cutting machine.
For example, the complex cavity and curved shape processing of various conductive bodies, such as hard alloy, quenched steel, graphite, aluminum alloy, structural steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy, diamond, etc., as well as the manufacturing of various moulds, electrodes and precision parts, all can be carried out with the equipment of edm wire cutting machine.
